Annual Predictions Post, 2015 Edition

Good grief, did I whiff on 2014. I guess I made some eerily accurate predictions for a few years in a row, so I'm due to catch up to reality. I have even less idea of what's going to happen this year. Might as well swing for the fences.

Playoff Teams

Ohio State
Ole Miss
Baylor
UCLA

(I was somewhat tempted to pick all four "O" teams with Oregon and Oklahoma, but whatever.)

Championship Game

Ole Miss vs. Baylor

Sure, why not. A few blowouts aside, I was really impressed with what Ole Miss did last season. They won't need a good QB if that defense can do what it did for some of last season. I'm thinking that might just be enough to win the SEC this year.

Baylor seems like it's either going to have a breakthrough this season, or it's never going to have one. I think they've got enough depth now that they should be able to win the Big 12 with one loss.

I think Ohio State will lose two games: Michigan, and the first playoff game. Calling it now.

I prematurely predicted Oregon's demise last season. I don't want to do it again, but it just seems like they're bound to botch at least a game or two. UCLA seems like it's ready to have that big season. I could be utterly wrong on both counts.

I think TCU is bound to drop at least two games. Too many close games last year, and Boykin never really got burned for chucking it up there recklessly. I feel like Alabama's on the same trajectory it's been on since 2010. The only difference is that the rest of the division has been catching up. It might be wishful thinking, but I think we see a glut of 2- and 3-loss SEC West teams, and Ole Miss wins the right games to make it to the championship.
