Week 11 Impressions
I have a feeling that the net result of such an emotional, hard-fought game is a letdown for Alabama at home in Week 11.
[echoes]
This is not a dream, Alabama. You lost! To an Air Raid team! [Nelson Muntz "HA HA"]
OK, so where are we now? We have the delightful possibility of not only an SEC-free national championship game, but also an undefeated and utterly qualified Notre Dame team being left out of the national championship game. This is good! Too good. I want to savor this week's results, but I'm afraid we're going to see some wrenches thrown into the machinery in the coming weeks.
Oregon's next two games come against two of the top three defenses in the Pac-12. Kansas State faces two teams who can put up points (and give them up in return). Notre Dame hasn't looked remotely dominant all season. And that leads us back to Georgia and Alabama. And Florida, who should still be sitting pretty if it can beat Florida State to finish the season. What I'm really pulling for is for Georgia to beat Alabama in the SEC Championship, and for Oregon, K-State, and Notre Dame to lose on the last week in the season, and for Florida to beat Florida State. THEN WE CAN HAVE A GEORGIA-FLORIDA REMATCH IN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. WHY DON'T YOU JUST PEE ON MY RUG WHILE YOU'RE HERE, SEC?
Sorry, I'm paranoid. But with good reason. I think the voters are ready to shun the SEC entirely this year, but only if the three remaining undefeateds cooperate. [shakes fist at undefeateds]
