Week 8 Impressions

Ah, jeez, are we already to Week 8?

Sometimes I have no idea what I'm talking about.  Sometimes I do.

I am reluctant to get overly excited about South Carolina or West Virginia.  As impressive as they've looked, someone is always left without a place to sit in musical chairs.

Things like "struggling to beat Vandy" and "struggling to beat Baylor" tend to raise red flags.

LSU and Notre Dame continue to win with tire-fire offenses and lights-out defenses.  It's almost as if we're destined to see a 3-2 BCS Bowl.  And Tommy Tuberville won't even be there!

Random thoughts:
  • Oregon has yet to grind out a game.  It's going to be interesting seeing how they react to the first team that takes them into the 3rd quarter.
  • Purdue was on its way to embarrassing Ohio State yet again, until someone kicked them out of their dream, Inception-style.
  • A&M-LSU reminded me of what an Oregon-Alabama title game might look like.
  • I can't wait for Auburn to finally hire Bobby Petrino.  And for Arkansas to hire Tommy Tuberville.
  • My hope is that someday, the Big Ten will be both bad and entertaining, like the ACC.
