Baseless Predictions for 2011

I'm going to use a slightly less structured format this year.  I'll start at the top, but I'm going to let my mind wander.  And here... we... GO.

  • Oklahoma will not go undefeated and will not play in the title game.
  • Either Alabama or LSU will win the SEC.  I'm torn between a coach with proven results and a coach for whom time and logic are expendable notions.
  • I think Oregon loses to LSU, Stanford, and one other Pac-12 opponent.
  • Boise State will not make a BCS bowl.
  • I want to say that Florida State is vastly overrated, but the ACC is the ACC.
  • Stanford tops 10 wins and Luck wins the Heisman easily.
  • A&M: 10 wins and a bowl loss.
  • Nebraska and Wisconsin in the inaugural Big Ten Championship.  A team wearing red and white will win.
  • TCU will go 9-3, embarrass a better team in its bowl game.
  • Notre Dame will get a BCS bowl and finish in the Top 10... because it's been too long since we could overrate Notre Dame and watch them get pummeled in a bowl game.
  • Ohio St. will lose to Michigan, a fate worse than NCAA sanctions.
  • Georgia will beat Boise State but lose a chunk of SEC games.
  • Auburn will finish unranked.
Conference champs:

ACC - Florida St.
Big East - West Virginia
Big Ten - Wisconsin
Big 12 - Oklahoma
C-USA - UCF
MAC - meh... Toledo?
MWC - Boise St.
Pac 12 - Stanford
SEC - Alabama
Sun Belt - Troy?  Why not.
WAC - Hawaii

Random prediction for 2011: Paterno will not finish the season.  It's as safe a guess as any.
